Deposits and what they cover
Most Casinys projects start with a deposit. That money is not sitting in an account waiting for nothing. It is used within the first week to book trades, order long-lead materials and lodge permit applications, and those costs become non-refundable as soon as they are committed.
Your contract shows the deposit amount and the point at which it stops being refundable.
Cancelling before work starts
If you cancel before we have ordered anything or booked a trade, we refund the deposit in full minus any design or survey work already delivered and invoiced separately.
- Cancel within 48 hours of signing and nothing has been ordered: full refund
- Cancel after materials are ordered: refund minus the actual costs already committed, shown with supplier invoices
- Cancel after a permit has been lodged: refund minus the fees paid to council and our consultants
We do not apply a cancellation fee on top of those real costs.
Cancelling after work starts
Once site works begin, work in place is payable. We will give you a written statement of completed work, materials held in the warehouse or workshop, and any demobilisation cost for machinery and site sheds. Anything paid above that figure comes back to you.
If you cancel and then ask us to restart the same project later, we will credit the refundable portion against the new contract.
Variations and changes
A variation is priced in writing before we do the work. If you approve it, the amount is added to the next progress claim. If you reject it, we do not do it and nothing is charged.
Where a variation removes scope, we credit the same line item price from the original quote rather than a discounted rate, so you are not penalised for cutting work.
Refunds and how they are paid
Approved refunds are paid to the same bank account the original payment came from, unless you ask otherwise in writing. We process them within 14 business days of agreeing the amount.
- Email casinys@gmail.com quoting the project reference and invoice number
- Include the reason and the amount you believe is owed
- We reply with a reconciliation within five business days
- Payment is made after both parties agree the figure
Disputes
If you disagree with our reconciliation, tell us in writing and we will sit down with the paperwork. If that does not resolve it, either party can refer the matter to the Victorian Small Business Commission or to the courts under the governing law of the contract. Nothing in this policy reduces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
